Can I subdivide land in Jordan?
Answer
Yes, land can be subdivided in Jordan subject to municipal minimum plot size requirements. In Amman, the minimum residential plot size is typically 150–500 sqm depending on the zoning sub-classification. To subdivide, you must: engage a licensed surveyor to prepare a subdivision plan, submit the plan to the Greater Amman Municipality (or relevant municipality), obtain subdivision approval, and register the new plots at the Land Registry. Each new plot receives its own kushan. Subdivision approval can take 3–6 months and may require road access to each new plot.
